RESUMO:

The present work is a study about communication of a Public Higher Education
Institution of the interior of Ceará, specifically the Federal University of Cariri (UFCA).
The objective of the research is to analyze the institutional communication of the UFCA
with its internal public, evidencing and exploring the media tools used by the institution
to communicate, its main objective is to detect the requirements for the improvement of
the communication related to the communication of events at UFCA / Campus Juazeiro
do Norte. And the specific formulations are as follows: to verify which are the
technological means implanted within the university with effectiveness in the
communicational process, to describe the difficulties recognized by the respondents in
the search for information of the events in the UFCA; to relate the suggestions of the
respondents for improvements in the disclosure and internal communication of
information in UFCA. As for the purpose of the research, it focuses on being a
descriptive research, as a technical procedure, it is a bibliographical and documentary
research using books, periodicals, articles and publications on the university website
based on the deductive method, is considered as exploratory, since it aims to provide
greater familiarity with the problem. Initially, concepts about communication,
communication barriers, digital communication, the use of applications, and the
management of information technology will be worked out and deepened. For the
effectiveness of the research will be considered the application of the questionnaires to
the sample for accessibility, which at the time of application. In this way, the results will
be analyzed quantitatively considering the subjective and objective questions. The
results obtained with the research, can demonstrate the weight and relevance of these
means of communication dissemination for optimization of processes and improvement
of communication and distribution of the dissemination with speed and effectiveness
UFCA, demonstrating and raising awareness, as the process of communication without
planning interferes in the institutional work environment. In addition, a mapping of the
existing means of communication in the UFCA, proposing a manual with the
requirements for the elaboration of an application so that the information of the events
can be disseminated in a timely manner, for an effective distribution of the 

communication within the Federal University of Cariri, and thus reduce / remedy
existing communication failures within this institution.
