RESUMO:
Arguably, automation of data collection and subsequent statistical treatment improves the quality of industrial management systems. The rise of accessible digital technologies enabled the introduction of the pillars of Industry 4.0 in local companies. In particular, this practice contributes positively to the triple result of sustainable development: people, the environment and the economy. The present work aims to provide a general automated structure for data recording and statistical control of conveyor belts in production lines. The software was developed in three layers: graphical user interface, inPHPlanguage, data collection, research and backup, in MySQL; computational statistics, inR; and hardware control, inC. The hardware components are based on rigid open source hardware cards and modular or industrial sensors. Specifically, the embedded system is designed to constantly monitor and record various measurable characteristics of the conveyor belts (for example, electrical consumption, online and offline periods, noise, air pollution, temperature and distance), through various sensors, allowing the computation of statistical control metrics and the evaluation of the quality of the production system. As a case study, the project uses a laminated limestone production line, located at the Mineral Technology Center, Nova Olinda, Ceará, Brazil.
