RESUMO:

The motto of this research is to identify the process of gentrification present in
housing, taking as a contribution the effects of this phenomenon on the life of the
people who were contemplated by the Minha Casa Minha Vida (PMCMV) Program,
in the city of Crato, in the Nossa Senhora das Dores Housing Complex. The discussion
also bears the importance of talking about this emerging concept in the formulation
of theories in the field of social sciences. Its nature comes from the
the speculative movement provoked by capital around the social production of the
space and its derivations (real estate plundering, socio-spatial segregation, exclusion and
inequality). As a result of this struggle of forces that urges on (re) production
space, there is still the housing deficit that, even
devastating Brazil. In this sense, public housing policies have been erected
with the objective of reducing the lack of decent housing / housing for people,
they are the PMCMV, originated in 2009, in the government of the former President, Luís Inácio
Lula da Silva. In view of this, it is consensual among several authors that, in Brazil, the
access to housing has been commodified by being governed by market speculation
with the corroboration of the State, which ends up making this relationship
paradoxical: the guarantee of the right to housing on the one hand, the
capital, on the other. Therefore, the methodological approach to be used in the research is
through a multi-method (qualitative and quantitative) perspective, in order to
that it is possible to execute it, the combination of these two paths
is fundamental
