Use of remote sensing as a mapping tool for land use and occupation in the salamanca river microbasin
Watersheds, GIS, land use and occupation
Considering that the use and occupation of soils allows a deeper understanding of the spatial arrangements that make up the landscape, as well as the processes responsible for the changes in the environment, the survey of land use and occupation is one of the most important tools in terms of the assessment of environmental transformations resulting from the degradation of soils, vegetation and water bodies. In this sense, the main objective of the project is to carry out the mapping and evaluation of the different uses and occupations of the soil in the Salamanca River basin, in order to know the level of environmental degradation in the region and to provide support for public environmental management, guiding the taking of decision and rural technical assistance. supervised classification of land use and occupation is carried out through GIS, in this case, the free software of geoprocessing Q-GIS will be used, having the Supervisioned Classificator Plugin — SCP plugin for the creation of the band with the • anointing of all images. It is intended to carry out a spatio-temporal analysis of land use and occupation in the region and its impacts on the soil of the Salamanca River basin.
