RESUMO:

Tourism has been presented as a social, cultural and economic phenomenon, related to the displacement of people to places outside their usual surroundings. Cultural heritage can represent social significance, fostering the feeling of historical conservation, cultural heritage also has the function of heritage and, in addition, an important and fundamental resource for the conservation of historical heritage. . In turn, cultural heritage comprises what is important to its residents, so that they can be relevant for the preservation or even the history of subsequent maintenance for their future generations. Cultural tourism, in particular, arises from a set of sustainable development strategies, as a data of tourist activities related to a set of characteristics of the historical and cultural heritage of the place. The heritage of Icó, located in the Center-South region of the state of Ceará, has been receiving particular attention from the tourist segment for its material of historical and cultural value, which has a vital and urban set listed in the Federal Instance since 1998. In this perspective, A Based on its material cultural heritage, built historically and resisting time, the municipality of Icó has the potential to promote the development of cultural tourism, demanding that this segment can be developed from the perspective of heritage sustainability. In this, the objective of this master's project is to analyze cultural tourism in the municipality of Icó/CE, with emphasis on the construction, resistance and sustainability of its cultural material context, as a way of promoting sustainable regional development. Methodologically, it is an exploratory-descriptive study, with a qualitative approach and a hypothetical-deductive method; where research, cartographic, documentary and observational procedures will be adopted. Of an applied nature, it will be used for data collection, applied field fields and semi-structured studies, in addition to works in the municipality, with an emphasis on the history of the host city. It is expected that the research will contribute to agents still in the field of tourism, and forerunner, for the municipality, who know the most important cultural heritages as and which can maintain sustainable development More efficient and sustainable as decision-making regarding public policies, dialoguing with the community in the Center-South region of Ceará and other locations. Finally, it is expected that the research can contribute to the analysis of the importance of regional heritage, with emphasis on its cultural segment, as well as contributing to the construction of tourism, such as the use of material cultural heritage of Icó.
