ACCESSIBLE ROUTES FOR PEOPLE WITH PHYSICAL DISABILITIES: EVALUATION OF THE APPLICABILITY OF THE SPATIAL ACCESSIBILITY STANDARD ON THE JUAZEIRO DO NORTE UFCA CAMPUS

The full participation of persons with disabilities is essential for the rise of sustainable development, and for its reach it is necessary to include universal. Accessibility is a fundamental and essential condition for any and all
process of social and spatial inclusion, as it presents itself in multiple dimensions: attitudinal, physical, technological, informational, communicational, linguistic and pedagogical, among others. Of point of view of socio-spatial inclusive architecture, a good educational physical space is the one recognized for its representativeness, with parameters centered on experiences anduses, including accessibility aspects and to include people with physical disabilities in the academic environment, referring to spatial inclusion, it is necessary that the physical barriers aredeleted. In this sense, the present research had as general objective to evaluate the applicability of the spatial accessibility standard for accessible routes for people with disability at the Juazeiro do Norte Campus of the Federal University of Cariri (UFCA). It is based on a qualitative and quantitative methodology, based on bibliographic research and documentary, and with a case study approach using the instruments of Post-Occupancy Assessment – APO, under three segments: “Experts Walkthrough” (RHEINGANTZ et al, 2009) used to start fieldwork with recognition of the case study, “Technical-functional evaluation” (ORNSTEIN E ROMERO, 1992; ELALI E VELOSO, 2006), used for research on constructive and functional aspects of building, in this research under the aspect of accessibility based on the parameters established in NBR9050/2020, and finally, “Questionnaire” (RHEINGANTZ et al, 2009), instrument used to analyze the perception of people with disabilities. fromdata analysis, it was possible to create a significant database on the conditions of accessibility of pre-defined routes as accessible routes from Campus Juazeiro do Norte, also presenting recommendations and demonstrating the importance of implementing the accessibility, which reflects in people with physical disabilities a concrete perception of inclusion and so they feel that they are actually exercising their right to education in a equitable.
