Accessibility. Human rights. Social inclusion. Sustainable development
The full participation of people with disabilities is essential for the rise of sustainable development, and universal inclusion is necessary to achieve this. Accessibility is a fundamental and essential condition for any process of social and spatial inclusion, as it presents itself in multiple dimensions: attitudinal, physical, technological, informational, communicational, linguistic and pedagogical, among others. From the point of view of inclusive socio-spatial architecture, a good educational physical space is one recognized for its representativeness, with parameters centered on experiences and uses, including aspects of accessibility and to include people with physical disabilities in the academic environment, referring to spatial inclusion, physical barriers need to be eliminated. In this sense, the objective of this work is to evaluate the applicability of the spatial accessibility norm of accessible routes for people with physical disabilities at the Campus of Juazeiro do Norte of the Federal University of Cariri. The present project proposes to carry out a research with a qualitative-quantitative method and also with a case study approach using the Post-Occupation Assessment Tool – APO. The object of study are the existing and pre-defined accessible routes for people with physical disabilities at the Campus Juazeiro do Norte of the Federal University of Cariri. It is expected that this research will develop a significant database on the accessibility conditions of pre-defined routes as accessible routes from Campus Juazeiro do Norte, demonstrating that the advance in the implementation of accessibility reflects a real perception of inclusion in people with physical disabilities. and so they feel they are actually exercising their right to education in an equitable way.
