Juazeiro do Norte is one of the most important cities in the interior of the state of Ceará is a polarizing center, not only in the Metropolitan Region of Cariri (RMCariri), but also from the south of Ceará and neighboring states in the Northeast. With migrations at the end of the 19th century and the emergence of the craft industry at the beginning of the 19th century. XX, the city began a process of commercial growth, opening the way for the regional development. With people coming from various locations, the place became a large representative and symbolic mosaic, creating a daily life rich in experiences, expressed in cultures, which are manifested through art, knowledge, doings, celebrations, popular traditions etc., and which over time have formed an important heritage cultural. In this context, the main objective of the research is to analyze the knowledge produced in the
city of Juazeiro do Norte, which make reference to the identities and memories of the groups city trainers, tothink about and propose cultural heritage as a vector of sustainable regional development. In view of this, the problematization of this research arises from the following question: how the preservation of cultural heritage is related and contributes to sustainable regional development? This question was the basis for the formulation of the hypothesis that is based on the perspective that the valorization and preservation of the Cultural Heritage, as a collective heritage, gives its social agents a feeling of belonging, self-esteem, equity and quality of life, conditions that are related directly with the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the that enhances Cultural Heritage as a vector of Regional Development Sustainable.
