RESUMO:

The relationship between human beings with the environment and the economy is conflicting, resulting from anthropocentrism, in which humans believe to be superior to any other species and therefore end up using natural resources in a reified way, and especially non-human animals, as a form of objectification and not as sentient beings. It is necessary to think of a new way of living in society, integrating nature and culture, considering all beings on the planet. This new world can be seen in veganism; therefore, this research will focus on veganism and how it can impact the improvement of the environment. Thus, the general objective will identify the role of veganism from the perspective of the paradigm of Good Living, inspired by the Andean peoples and sustainability, understood in its various dimensions. For this, it will discuss the following theoretical bases: the principles of the Good Life and sustainability, highlighting the ethical-political proposal of veganism, discussing the effects on the environment and the relationship between humans and animals. In view of the above, it is of interest to investigate how Veganism can act to improve the environment, collaborating with the practices of the Good Life, in search of environmental sustainability? The methodology of the study's approach is descriptive and qualitative. For the development of the project, primary data will be collected through semi-structured interviews online, with members of social network groups with the theme veganism, veganism and sustainability, and secondary data from bibliographic and documentary research. As a result, it was found that the participants understand that veganism goes beyond animal suffering. It was possible to notice, according to the answers, that the vegan lifestyle brings benefits to the planet by causing a more sustainable thought, even if indirectly, since putting an end to animal suffering is the direct way presented by veganism
