RESUMO:
This work seeks to study the use of multivariate statistical techniques combined with a computational model based on the Saint-Venant wave propagation equation, the objective is to find a model that uses a minimum number of parameters, so that its implementation cost is smaller, favoring its adoption by public bodies of water resources management. Events from two hydrographic basins were analyzed, the first being the São José Hydrographic Microbasin (MHSJ) with an intermittent river, with low flows and rapid transitions, the second basin is the Patos / Cariús / Iguatu (SBHPCI) located on crystalline rock, high and perennial flows. The statistical methods used were the multiple linear regression and the surface-response model, the parameters used were the inlet hydrographs (upstream) and hydraulic load, in which it was sought to obtain the outward hydrograph (downstream) in the basins' outlets. The efficiency of the model is given by applying the Nash-Sutcliffe coefficient (NSE) and the standard deviation. The models performed well, but an average flow threshold was found for each study area, from which the results show better NSEs. The pure statistical models better simulated the events of the MHSJ, and in contrast the computational model combined with the statistical component more efficiently simulated the events of the SBHPCI.
