ASSESSMENT OF WASTE MANAGEMENT ELECTRONIC ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT IN THE CITY OF JUAZEIRO DO NORTH - CE: an analysis from the perspective of sustainability.

The globalization process is generating a great influence on society, changing aspects of consumption causing ruptures in traditional models. The impact has been perceived mainly in the quantity and variety of products that affect consumer behavior and lifestyle habits, especially those related to new technologies such as smartphones, computers and tablets. In view of the changes caused by the increasingly accelerated technological development, society is facing imminent problems, such as the degradation of the environment, to the detriment of the accelerated and growing production of technological goods, resulting in an upward consumption as well. Based on this context, how was the problem based on the intention of evaluating how the management of electronic products in the city of Juazeiro do Norte is carried out after consumption? In order to answer this problem, the study has the general objective of this work to evaluate how the management of waste electronic equipment (WEEE) is done, which were generated by the disposal to the environment, in the city of Juazeiro do Norte in the interior of the state. Ceará and as specific objectives will be to identify the level of consumption of electronic products of the population of the city of Juazeiro do Norte-CE, to diagnose the way the population discards WEEE and to evidence if the recycling companies of the region have some form of material treatment electronic device being discarded. In order to meet these objectives, it is proposed to carry out research in four spheres, the first being with consumers in Juazeiro do Norte, companies that sell electronic products, the company that develops actions for recycling these products and the municipal authority of the environment in Juazei ro do Norte .
