Environmental degradation is the alteration / depletion of the environmental conditions or the habitat of a collectivity. It is directly linked to environmental pollution, to irregular land use, and to poor planning and environmental management. Being sustainable development (meeting present needs without compromising future generations), a response to environmental degradation. Following this line, the Timbaúbas Ecological Park conservation unit, Juazeiro do Norte-CE, was created Decree No. 1,083, dated March 23, 1995. In 2017, it was framed as an integral conservation unit at the municipal level , Decree No. 352/2017. However, it is observed that although it is a conservation unit, the Park presents strong characteristics of degradation (unintentional discharge of solid wastes, water pollution of lagoons, areas of clearings and intense erosive processes), in this way, the research will contribute to construction of the management plan and its subsequent framing with the Federation. This research is based on evaluating the quality of water resources and verifying the potential of soil erodibility of the watershed, in order to propose improvements aimed at sustainability standards and integrated management of water resources. In addition to the delimitation of the hydrographic basin to obtain the morphometric characteristics of the study area, since they are indicators in the prediction of flood, flood and erodibility, thus helping in water management.
