Education expressed in the philosophy of Immanuel Kant: an analysis of the influences on the pedagogical formulations of the school curriculum in high school
Education. Careful. Discipline. Morality. Philosophy
The central problem of this dissertation is how the education expressed in the work of Immanuel Kant materializes and is reflected in the set of curricular activities and in the teaching-learning process in the discipline of philosophy at the José Matias Sampaio High School (regular education)? To do so, we will address some points: (1) we will analyze the education expressed in the philosophy of Immanuel Kant. In our understanding, education for Kant is care, more specifically, care for childhood, care for training (which encompasses discipline and instruction) and, culminating in care for morality; (2) we establish relationships between Kant's educational perspective and the set of didactic-pedagogical activities in the discipline of philosophy. By means of analogy, we identify the parts of education as the moments of Kantian philosophizing; (3) explore and identify the possible relationships between the official documents of the high school, as well as the National Curricular Guidelines of the State of Ceará, with the Kantian educational perspective in the teaching of philosophy; (4) investigate the extent to which the influences of the Kantian notion of morality permeate the curriculum (implicit and explicit), intertwining the student, the school, family and society; (5) Identify the main “Kantian” concepts in textbooks and how they are worked on by teachers during their daily didactic-pedagogical work in the discipline of philosophy. The result of this research aims, as a final product, to create a primer related to philosophical education expressed in the philosophy of Immanuel Kant.
