SUMMARY:

Health in Brazil is guaranteed as a fundamental right in the constitution, but it was only instituted as the Unified Health System - SUS in 1990, bringing important changes in the health care of the population, so that through its principles and guidelines, it guarantees the social inclusion of all Brazilian citizens.
These principles and guidelines are consolidated through a care model, with emphasis on integrality, right to information, social control and hierarchy of actions (BRASIL, 1990a). Thus, bringing great challenges for all professionals inserted in the system, from management to policy implementation, at all levels of care.
Primary Health Care (APS), currently known as Primary Care (AB), is an important State policy, with the Family Health Strategies (ESF) as the main
gateway to health services, and also functioning as a communication center for Health Care Networks (RAS) 1 .
According to the Declaration of Alma Ata:

PHC represents the first level of contact for individuals, families and the community with the National Health System, through which health care is brought as closely as possible to the places where people live and work, constituting the first element of a continuous process of assistance. to Health (WHO, 1979).

 

Among AB's attributions, there is care for patients living with HIV (PLHIV), promoting care through the establishment of the therapeutic bond, through welcoming with respect and without discrimination, where the patient actively participates in their self-care, seeking healthier practices and performing evaluation. daily routine of gormaa to identify diseases and chronic diseases, in this way, it significantly improves adherence to treatment, preventing the transmission of the virus, avoiding the evolution to AIDS and reducing the
mortality from the disease. Primary Care operates through guidelines such as welcoming and linking clients, in which the health team is responsible for their care.
(BRAZIL, 2010a).
However, it is necessary to organize articulated care between Primary Care and the
specialized care services for PLHIV in Brazil, guaranteeing access and linkage with the health system, contributing to the improvement of these people's quality of life, having the
support and supply of necessary materials offered by the Department of Diseases with Chronic Conditions and Sexually Transmitted Infections of the Ministry of Health.
