DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION AND ACADEMIC OUTREACH: PROPOSED AGENDA POSTING FOR INSTAGRAM IN THE CULTURAL ACTIVITY OF BIBLIOTECA ARIANO SUASSUNA OF UFAPE

Academic Libraries are instances that make it possible for universities to meet the needs of a specific social group by managing their information holdings, offering products and services, and by playing an educational role in guiding the user in the use of information. As technological transformation intensifies, Academic Library (AL) create digital products and services to meet the needs of digital native users. Digital transformation helps the social impact of Brazilian´s Academic Library extension projects to meet the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) and the 2030 Agenda through university extension and working with the guideline Impact and Social Transformation that is implemented in the community surrounding universities. Social media as communication channels and their platforms, especially the social networks used by the ALs, are important to promote their extension actions. In this perspective, the main research question for the understanding of the proposed theme includes understanding How will the Ariano Suassuna Academic Library of UFAPE contribute to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals with actions at the local level, how can UFAPE's Ariano Suassuna Library use Instagram to make its cultural actions visible in line with the SDGs of the 2030 Agenda? The main objective of the research will be to analyze the contributions of the Cultural Action Extension Project carried out by the UFAPE Library to the implementation of the 2030 Agenda.  The specific objectives involve in identifying the digital transformations considering the products and services offered by the ALs to the scope of the Internet social platforms; identify the extensionist actions carried out by the Brazilian ALs considering the guidelines and thematic axes of extension; describe the extensionist actions of the ALs of UFAPE, considering the Cultural Action extension project that meet the SDGs of Agenda 2030; and propose a posting policy for the use of Instagram in order to digitally transform the Cultural Action extension project through face-to-face actions to the digital world. The methodological procedures adopted in the research is a case study from the Cultural Action project at AL of UFAPE. It has a qualitative approach. It is considered an exploratory research for providing greater familiarity with a problem and descriptive for characterizing a certain phenomenon. After the completion of the research, it is intended to contribute so that researchers and others interested in the subject can meet in the ALs extension projects to the SDGs and Agenda 2030 through a posting policy on the social network Instagram. In relation to the first specific objective of this study, which was to “Identify the digital transformations and the digital products and services in the BUs”, it was observed that the BUs have developed products and services with the intensification of the technological transformation, meeting the changes according to the users' needs regarding access to and use of information. In relation to the second objective, which was to “Identify the extension activities carried out by Brazilian BUs considering the guidelines and thematic axes of extension” at federal universities. A universe of 68 federal universities and their library systems was found. In relation to the third specific objective, which was “To map the extension actions arising from the Cultural Action project developed by the UFAPE BU in the period from 2018 to 2019”, the UFAPE library's Cultural Action project portfolio, the work plan for the technical service in educational affairs for cultural action from the library and the extension project registration form were used for analysis. In relation to the fourth specific objective, which was “Describe the extension action of the UFAPE BU, such as Cultural Action that meets the SDGs of the 2030 Agenda”, the projects highlighted in the 2018/2019 portfolio were analyzed, such as lectures, workshops and forums for discussions and/or experiences, and those that met the SDGs and the UN 2030 Agenda were identified. In relation to the fifth specific objective, which was “To propose a posting policy for the use of Instagram in order to digitally transform the Cultural Action extension project through face-to-face actions into the digital world”, it was observed that the BUs created some posting patterns for Instagram in the feeds, stories, icons and covers for the highlights. The research produced a proposal for a posting policy for the UFAPE Ariano Suassuna Library's Instagram. Once the research has been completed, the aim is to help researchers and others interested in the subject to take account of the SDGs and the 2030 Agenda in BU's outreach projects through a posting policy on the Instagram social network.
