THE DIMENSIONS OF INFORMATION MEDIATION APPLIED TO MUSIC COURSES IN CEARÁ:
proposal from the Academic Network for Mediation in Music - RAMMUS

It is about the relationships between the dimensions of Information Mediation and the curricula of Music
courses in the state of Ceará. The starting point of the present study is: how to apply the dimensions
of Information Mediation in the context of Music teaching in the state of Ceará, aiming to build an integrated
performance product? The general objective is: To investigate the Music courses in Ceará belonging to
UFC–Fortaleza, UFC–Campus de Sobral, UFCA, and UECE, from a curricular perspective, considering the
contributions of Information Mediation in its dimensions: dialogical, aesthetic, formative, ethics and politics,
aiming to propose an integrated academic performance program. The specific objectives are: a) discuss
the curricula of Music courses in Ceará. b) Establish possible relationships between the curricula of Music
courses and the dimensions of Information Mediation and c) Understand the applicability of the dimensions
of Information Mediation in the curricula of Music courses in the state of Ceará. The methodology consists
of the following training: qualitative, descriptive, bibliographic and documentary reference. And in order to
structure the data analyses, we constituted a documentary reality, supported through an approach taking
the lattes CVs of the Professors of the object of study of this research. Classifying the analysis of structured
content into two types of categories, which are categories on two levels: the thematic level through the
Information Mediation categories and their dimensions; dialogical, aesthetic, formative, ethical and political,
second: propose through institutional plans which are the categories in which Music courses are involved:
teaching, research, extension, postgraduate and event. It is concluded that RAMMUS/CE is an
institutionalized integrated product, designed in the dimensions of Information Mediation, theoretical
categories that support the applied categories: objective teaching contributes to more complete teacher
training, with the aim of promoting a more dynamic and innovative academic environment. Research is
designed in conjunction with Postgraduate/Graduate studies in which research agents consciously seek to
reveal intentions to promote interdisciplinary research in Music Education. Extension, it will be shared in the
articulation of significant knowledge from the research carried out and the needs of the internal/external
community. Postgraduate, is designed in partnership between PPGB and Music courses, promoting broad,
up-to-date training in relation to Information Mediation and its dimensions, contributing to the training of
more qualified professionals to work in the development of innovative solutions. Events will discuss,
disseminate and share recent research and work in Music, or on a specific topic, expanding knowledge,
promoting critical reflection and encouraging scientific production.
