DOCUMENTATION AND MEMORY: COMMUNITY EPSTEMOLOGY AND THE CULTURES OF RURAL COMMUNITIES IN THE METROPOLITAN REGION OF SERTÃO DO CARIRI CONTEMPORARY CEARENSE

This dissertation aims to contribute to a better understanding of the concepts of Community Epistemologies, Sertanejo Way of Life, Ancestry, Memory and Documentation, based on interdisciplinary approaches from the areas of knowledge of social sciences and content analysis that observe historical narratives, philosophical discussions and discourses that infer the formation of the cultural imaginary of the territorialities that involve the rural communities of Chapada do Araripe, in the metropolitan region of Cariri in Ceará in contemporary times.
With critical considerations about the relationships imposed by the capitalist, colonialist system and responsible for the agency of epistemicide, the work brings together documents including texts, images and maps, building specialized documentation and an in-depth reflection on the theme of alternative ways of producing life, in dissent the negative changes in the history and social and cultural memory of ancestral traditions. Highlighting, in this way, the epistemological potential present in the memories of resistance present in territories that preserve cultural matrices that constitute the country culture and way of life, as is the case of local communities in the backlands of the southern region of the state of Ceará.
