KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT AT THE FEDERAL UNIVERSITY OF CARIRI-BRAZIL: PROPOSED WIKI DESIGN GUIDE FOR THE INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY DEPARTMENT´S SERVICES
Information Architecture; Information technology; Knowledge Management; wiki.
A Wiki tool is a collaborative system that allows content to be created, edited and shared in an agile and accessible way. Based on the principles of Information Architecture, a Wiki can be designed to organize and structure information in a logical and intuitive way, making it easier for users to navigate and search. This project analyzes, based on Information Architecture, the Wiki tool for Knowledge Management (KM) based on Batista's Model (2012), in order to evaluate the services offered by the Information Technology Directorate (DTI) of the Federal University of Cariri (UFCA). Its specific objectives are: a) identify the theoretical principles of Knowledge Management considering its models and practices; b) identify the theoretical concepts of Information Architecture with a view to structuring its subsystems in the Wiki Tool of the UFCA DTI; c) describe the main services and demands of the Federal University of Cariri's Information Technology Department that can be dealt with collaboratively using a Wiki Tool; d) propose a guide for implementing a Wiki Tool to help manage the main services dealt with by the Federal University of Cariri's Information Technology Department (UFCA). This project was based on descriptive and exploratory research, carried out through bibliographical, documentary and case study research, in order to investigate the implementation of the Wiki tool. This research is qualitative in nature and aims to understand the consequences of implementing the wiki tool for the academic community at UFCA, especially the DTI. For data collection, a combination of observational research and the application of the KM Assessment Tool will be used, as a way of increasing the effectiveness and reliability of the results and promoting interaction between the sector and the researcher, since a collaborative action is proposed. The importance of the research is demonstrated by the growing need for institutions that deal with research to have efficient knowledge management systems, thus contributing to the systematization and dissemination of information through intersectoral actions.
