SUMMARY:

The research that follows has as its backdrop the Tambor de Crioula de São Luís do Maranhão, a cultural manifestation of black resistance where women and men in a circle unfold a ritual, in which women dance and men play the drum under an ancestral magic that has become Intangible Heritage in 2007. The investigation aims to understand how the Masters of the Tambor de Crioula produce knowledge and perceive the dimensions of power, memory and intangible heritage, based on their places and political bodies. Specifically, we intend to identify the Tambor de Crioula masters as women who produce knowledge; to reflect on how the Masters of the Tambor de Crioula understand the dimensions of power, memory and intangible heritage so that at the end of the research, a photographic catalog is constructed, as a product, and that it promotes and makes visible the places of memory of the Masters of the Tambor de Crioula and its production of knowledge. The turning of the study skirts develops in a qualitative, descriptive and interpretative approach, as it works with meanings, values, memory and knowledge. The theoretical-methodological foundation is based on black feminism, its epistemologies and protagonisms, seeking with intersectionality, brought to the center of this research, as a methodology, to understand the intersections of the avenues of identity present in the proposed categories of analysis. The difference contained in this methodology in order to analyze the data was the development of an analysis protocol entitled – Pungada de Coreira, which uses the analogy of the twirls of women's skirts to intersect with the analysis categories of this research and as a contribution it launched Using the oral narratives that allowed us to enter the universe of the Masters' experiences, the data collection instrument used were semi-structured interviews in order to provide the freedom and spontaneity necessary for the investigation and to be able to intersect with the proposed categories. The results found allowed us to understand the geopolitics of knowledge, thus allowing us to identify hierarchies of knowledge and power, in addition to positioning the Tambor de Crioula Masters in this network that interconnects territories, knowledge production, gender, race, class, markers that daily crosses the women Masters of the Tambor de Crioula de São Luís do Maranhão. The considerations indicate and highlight the importance of the Masters of the Tambor de Crioula for the construction and belonging of a black identity in Maranhão and the need to think about public policies specifically aimed at the Masters and their knowledge.
