ACCESS TO SOCIAL SECURITY INFORMATION IN THE MUNICIPAL SOCIAL SECURITY FUND OF THE SERVIDORS OF JUAZEIRO DO NORTE - PREVIJUNO

This research proposes to improve access to social security rights through the creation of a social security information service at the Municipal Social Security Fund for Civil Servants of Juazeiro do Norte (PREVIJUNO), in the State of Ceará, Brazil. With the aim of diagnosing the context in which PREVIJUNO operates – the foundation of the suggested service, it carries out descriptive research, of a qualitative nature, implemented in three investigative strategies: bibliographic, documentary and field. As results, it presents: a) the overview of the national social security information regime: presenting the main regulatory devices of the social security sector and specifically addressing public security: General Social Security Regime and the Social Security Own Regimes; b) municipal and institutional: describes the PREVIJUNO information regime, such as legislation, rules, services, infrastructure and the like; and c) the information demands perceived by the public (active and retired employees) of PREVIJUNO. Based on these results, PREVINFORMA is structured: which is the proposition of an Information Desk, corroborating the increase in knowledge about PREVIJUNO and the role that this Social Security Scheme has in the lives of municipal employees. Finally, it highlights the role of PREVIJUNO in promoting access to social security information, and that this must be improved by solutions – products and services – interdisciplinary with information disciplines – especially Library Science and Information Science.
