INFORMATION MANAGEMENT IN AN LIBRARIANSHIP COURSE: PROPOSAL OF AN ACADEMIC MANUAL FOR STUDENTS
Course Coordination. Informational flow. Decision-making
This research describes the information management within the Brazilian federal universities.
To this end, it conducts exploratory-descriptive research, in the form of case study, in the
coordination of the Librarianship course at the Federal University of Cariri, State of Ceará.
For data collection, it is used a bibliographic review on the theme under study; documentary
research with institutional norms of the university and the technique of participant
observation, because the researcher is inserted in the research context. It describes the
informational flow in the following structure: a) from an informational point of view, the flow
(or management) of information in a Brazilian public university; b) the flow of information in
the coordination of the librarianship course at UFCA. Finally, it concludes the need for a
proposal to develop a manual to help the students of the librarianship course in the
management of information relevant to their daily university life and to support the decision-
making process.
