Mediation of information and reading in prison libraries for women deprived of liberty: proposal for an action plan in dialogue with the 2030 Agenda.

This is an investigative research about the importance of prison libraries to achieve the resocialization of women deprived of liberty when acting in what concerns the realization of mediation projects of information and reading inside prisons, thus ensuring basic rights such as access to education, culture and information and walking in line with the 2030 Agenda. In this sense, it was based on the following problem: How to structure an information and reading mediation plan applied to prison libraries, in systems that incarcerate women, and that is in dialogue with the 2030 Agenda? The general objective of the research is to develop a mediation plan for prison libraries with educational, cultural, and informational guidelines that are in line with the 2030 Agenda. As for the specific objectives, they are: a) To understand the prison situation of Brazilian women; b) To identify in the literature the scientific publications about the theme; c) To investigate the possible possibilities of librarianship within prison libraries; d) To approach the processes of elaboration and implementation of information and reading mediation projects within prison libraries in dialogue with the Sustainable Development Goals. As for the methodological procedures, it is characterized by being exploratory and the theoretical-conceptual delineation is bibliographic and documental of a qualitative nature, using the technique of document analysis for data collection. As for the final product, it has the preparation of a Mediation Plan for Prison Libraries with guidelines of educational-cultural-informational nature to be applied in these information units, in order to help the professionals who intend to work in these units and contribute with the construction of active and active spaces regarding the re-socialization of the assisted people. However, it is worth pointing out that the fight for the valorization of prison libraries needs to be unceasing so that these units can, through librarianship practices, democratize the access to information and transform the lives of many inmates.
