In this research, we used the phenomenological approach, seeking a direct description of the experience of these realities in the literature of the area. As a frame of reference for the study, ethnomethodology is used because it analyzes beliefs and behaviors, adapting to the objective of the research. It is also an applied research, with an exploratory approach of a descriptive nature, with the beginning of the research being bibliographic and documental, based on research, articles and books of national and international scope. With this research, it is possible to conclude that it is necessary to rethink library science curricula, in order to insert elective and mandatory disciplines of Information Literacy, since the theme demonstrates national and international relevance and proves to be indispensable for the formation and professional performance of librarians.
