SUMMARY:

Academic Libraries are instances that make it possible for universities to meet the needs of a social group or society in general by managing their information holdings, offering products and services, and by playing an educational role in guiding the user in the use of information. As technological transformation intensifies, Academic Library (AL) create digital products and services to meet the needs of digital native users. Digital transformation helps the social impact of Brazilian´s Academic Library extension projects to meet the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) and the 2030 Agenda through university extension and working with the guideline Impact and Social Transformation that is implemented in the community surrounding universities. Social media as communication channels and their platforms, especially the social networks used by the ALs, are important to promote their extension actions. In this perspective, the main research question for the understanding of the proposed theme includes understanding How will the Ariano Suassuna Academic Library of UFAPE contribute to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals with actions at the local level, being able to transform the Cultural Action extension project to the digital medium using the social network Instagram? Thus, the dissertation has as its main objective to analyze the extension actions in the Ariano Suassuna Library at UFAPE in order to give digital visibility of its cultural actions through Instagram to the internal and external community.  The specific objectives involve in identifying the digital transformations considering the products and services offered by the ALs to the scope of the Internet social platforms; identify the extensionist actions carried out by the Brazilian ALs considering the guidelines and thematic axes of extension; describe the extensionist actions of the ALs of UFAPE, considering the Cultural Action extension project that meet the SDGs of Agenda 2030; and propose a posting policy for the use of Instagram in order to digitally transform the Cultural Action extension project through face-to-face actions to the digital world. The methodological procedures adopted in the research is a case study from the Cultural Action project at AL of UFAPE. It has a qualitative approach. It is considered an exploratory research for providing greater familiarity with a problem and descriptive for characterizing a certain phenomenon. After the completion of the research, it is intended to contribute so that researchers and others interested in the subject can meet in the ALs extension projects to the SDGs and Agenda 2030 through a posting policy on the social network Instagram.
