SCIENTIFIC COMMUNICATION AND DISINFORMATION: CONCEPTUAL CONTRIBUTION OF THE SCIENTIFIC PRODUCTIONS OF THE STRICTO SENSU GRADUATE PROGRAMS IN LIBRARY AND INFORMATION SCIENCE OF THE FEDERAL UNIVERSITIES OF NORTHEASTERN BRAZIL IN THE CONTEXT OF THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC

Considering that disinformation presents a problem specific to the informational area, it is up to Information Science and Librarianship to carry out studies and concrete actions to support access to information, which combat the disinformation ecosystem. Therefore, the discussions promoted in the Postgraduate Programs in Information Science, in Library Science and in Information and Knowledge Management of the Federal Universities of the Brazilian Northeast on disinformation in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic, as well as how the theme is portrayed in the products arising from these discussions, is of central interest to this work. The central theme is based on the concepts of Scientific Communication and Disinformation to solve the problem, which starts from the following question: What is the conceptual contribution of the scientific productions of the stricto sensu postgraduate programs in Information Science, Librarianship and Information and Information Management? Knowledge of the Federal Universities of Northeast Brazil, on the subject of disinformation, in the context of the Covid-19 Pandemic? The aim is, therefore, to achieve the following general objective: to understand how the use and appropriation of concepts about disinformation in the field of Information Science, Librarianship and Information Management in Northeast Brazil is presented, in the context of the coronavirus pandemic. Covid-19. The specific objectives are: 1) Map the articles, dissertations and theses of the Postgraduate Programs in Information Science, in Library Science and in Information and Knowledge Management of the Federal Universities of Northeast Brazil in the period from 2020 to 2022; 2) Identify the bibliographic sources, on the subject of disinformation, in the publications; 3) Observe which appropriations and uses of the concept(s) of disinformation in the scientific productions of the Programs; 4) Verify the conceptual quality of the productions and the relevance in the areas of Information Science, Librarianship and Information Management in the fight against disinformation in health. The methodology used will be the collection and qualitative-quantitative analysis of data from the survey of scientific productions made available in open access form in the institutional repositories and/or websites of the Programs of 7 (seven) Federal Universities of the Northeast of Brazil, on the theme Misinformation , produced in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic, in 2020, 2021 and 2022. With this research, the aim is to evaluate the conceptual and social contribution of the aforementioned academic areas to the fight against disinformation in health.
