DIGITAL PRESERVATION POLICIES: PROPOSAL OF A PLAN OF PERFORMANCE FOR THE FEDERAL INSTITUTE OF MARANHÃO

This is a research that aims to identify the minimum requirements necessary to safeguard the access and institutional memory of digital documents produced, accessed and finalized at the Federal Institute of Maranhão (IFMA) and a suggestion to implement an action plan for digital preservation policy at IFMA. The current context of changes promoted by Information and Communication Technologies - ICTs, scientific development and the Internet have triggered innovations in relation to the production, processing, storage, use and dissemination of information in institutions, organizations, companies with a focus on digital transformation. Consequently, changes and benefits were applied to the files of these Federal Institutions. However, the problematization of the study is to investigate if the IFMA is prepared for the digital world, if there are public policies serving as a foundation to guarantee digital preservation, for this, a review of literature, books, portals, consultations in systems , public documents, document analysis and an observation questionnaire in its Archives. In this way, the research approaches an introduction diagnosing the advances of ICT'S, it presents the structure of the dissertation and its methodology, in the sequence, it deals with digital preservation policies, therefore, it relates to Custodial Archivology with Postgraduate Studies. Custodial, its conceptual bases, advances and paradigm shift. Digital Policy in Federal Institutes, Digital Policy in IFMA Management, and finally, final considerations, observations and future perspectives.
