SUMMARY:

This paper has as its main goal to analyze the Librarian job at TV Archive of a local news station affiliated with Globo TV in the State of Ceará, Brazilian Northeast region. The attributions of Librarians are analyzed with the theory developed by professor João Canavilhas et al. Among the research objectives are an analysis of the concepts of information, document, TV Archive and librarian acts as well. The hypothesis is that the librarian workers are essential for the existence and preservation of the TV archive and for the social memory.
