The formation of reader practices from YouTube
Reading. Mediation. Reading. Training of Readers. YouTube.
It deals with YouTube as a resource to encourage reading, considering that with the
advent of new communication and information technologies, the use of this resource as
an aid to teachers and students is remarkable. Discusses reading, audiovisual and the
online video platform YouTube. It addresses the librarian as a mediator of reading, as
well as its relevance in the educational environment, mainly, in relation to activities to
encourage reading. The research presents the following problem: schools in the
municipal public network of Juazeiro do Norte use audiovisual resources for projects to
encourage reading. It is hypothesized that the initiatives regarding the use of channels
on YouTube and various audiovisual resources by the municipal education network in
Juazeiro do Norte are still very timid and do not constitute an effective practice that
guarantees the strengthening of reading practices. Its general objective: to build a
practical guide to encourage reading from channels available on YouTube on
encouraging reading. And as specific objectives: to analyze the audiovisual as a
resource to encourage reading; analyze YouTube programs for reading; map existing
channels for reading; to know the reality of municipal public schools in Juazeiro do
Norte with regard to projects aimed at encouraging reading using audiovisual. The
methodology is characterized as exploratory research, regarding the ends. As for the
means, it is considered a qualitative bibliographic research, in which the inductive
method was used and uses the structured questionnaire for data collection. It is
expected to contribute to the incentive to reading in schools of the municipal public
network of Juazeiro do Norte and from the proposed informational product to
strengthen the reading practices, directly assisting both the librarians and the teachers
of this teaching network.
