THE SOCIAL MEMORY OF JOURNALISM PRINTED IN THE LIBRARY OF THE FATHER CÍCERO MEMORIAL FOUNDATION THROUGH MOBILE DEVICES
Communication. Information. Preservation. Scanning. Free access.
From the concern to keep the memory alive, as well as the history and regional culture,
the idea arose to present possibilities of storing, in a digital and accessible way to
population, all copies of the newspaper O Rebate, the first written communication
city, which is digitized in the Library of the Memorial Padre Cícero Foundation (FMPC)
for local consultation. The institution is located in Juazeiro do Norte, Ceará. The proposal is
contribute to the routine of the library servers, as well as the external public,
giving the individual the opportunity to have access, wherever he is, to the material. The problem arises
from the following question: How to preserve and enable access to the Jornal's digital collection
Rebate, available at the FMPC Library? It is justified considering that several
documents, books and archives in general, are constantly lost in libraries, whether by
natural causes or not, such as the fires that occurred in recent years in
institutions such as the National Museum, in Rio de Janeiro, and the Notre Dame Cathedral, in Paris.
Therefore, this study, at the master's level, aims preferably to prevent this type of situation
within the scope of the Memorial library, preserving the memory of the institution and the region that is
so important at national and international level.
