RESUMO:

This research addresses the planning of information units in the context of IFCE Libraries, which cater to different user profiles, of different types, levels and teaching areas of the Institute, and should offer services and products characteristic of school, university and specialized libraries. Focuses on the stage of organizational diagnosis, which identifies the potentialities and limitations of the institution, based on quality indicators from national and international technical conventions. Given this, part of the following problem question: what indicators should be used to identify the strengths and weaknesses of IFCE libraries? It sets as its general objective to propose an organizational diagnostic tool with guidelines compatible with the profile of IFCE libraries. The specific objectives are to characterize the IFCE Library System and to review regulatory documents that establish guidelines and quality indicators for libraries. It uses as methodological procedures the exploratory and descriptive research, besides being bibliographic and documentary, with a qualitative approach, guided by the inductive method. For collection and analysis of research data, content analysis will be used. It aims that the proposed product can be used as a guideline by the IFCE Library System, guiding the management work carried out in the information units of its campuses and the implementation of new units in the constant expansion process of the Institute, and can be used as a model. for Libraries from other FIs, contributing to the national Library.
