COMPETENCES OF THE LIBRARIAN IN THE APPLICATION OF MARKETING STRATEGIES IN SCHOOL LIBRARIES: a multistudy study in the private schools of Juazeiro do Norte-CE

It presents the development of librarians' skills in marketing activities and their relation
with the performance in the offer of products and services in libraries of private schools
in Juazeiro do Norte. In this context, school librarians can rethink their professional
positions through marketing practices as a differential in their skills and competences.
Thus, the general objective is to analyze the abilities of the librarians applied in the
strategies of informational marketing in the context of the performance of the school
libraries of the private network of Juazeiro do Norte. For this, we sought theoretical
foundation on competencies, informational marketing and school library. The objective
of this research was classified as exploratory, with a quali-quantitative approach, being
the data collection done through semistructured (with open and closed questions). As
for the environment, it´s classified as field research method. The data collection
instrument used will be the online survey, prepared and sent through the Google Docs
tool. The research will have the participation of five librarians from private schools in
Juazeiro do Norte, given the difficulty in finding this professional working in the school
libraries of the region. From the specialized literature, an analysis structure will be set
up, which will guide the structuring of the results section. In summary, it is expected
that the association of the marketing skills most impacting to the librarian's
performance that vary according to the performance segment (service or product), will
be effective in the management of these information units. As a contribution, the work
will present a map, which will present the librarian's skills in marketing activities, as
well as the ideal profile for this professional who wants to use marketing as an
innovative way of doing business.
