RESUMO:

We understand the memory, while plural and dynamic phenomenon of recollection processes,
perceptions of reality, memories, silence, forgetfulness; and such multiplicity, we'll cover the
memory from the specific perspective of oblivion, working the intrinsic relationship between the
two. Based on this relationship, we will seek to look then for the incorporation of urban
memories and how these are shaped by processes of use of oblivion in memory to meet specific
interests. For that, we will leave a specific reality, which is built-up memory of Crato and the
Constitution of their places of memory, promoting it, the debate between oblivion and its
implications on construction memoirist of urban spaces. At most, we reflect on memory,
forgetting and silencing, portray the memory in the context of the relationship between
information and narratives, and describe the importance of ' memory ' places in the construction
of urban memory. In the end, we propose to develop a social cartography of urban memory of
town of Crato, listing the places mapped and their relationships with the memory, history and
culture of the region.
