Resist to exist: memory, identity and society in the context of the work of Trupe dos
Pensantes.
Art and Culture. Memory. Society. Street Theater.
It explores the universe of street theater under the lens of librarianship, while investigating it as the
creator of a web of memories and meanings capable of generating deep social transformations. For this
purpose, it analyzes concepts such as social memory, collective and individual, identity and preservation.
In this sense, it carries out an ethnographic research with the communities visited with the theater group
Trupe dos Pensantes, the object of research. It hopes, based on testimony and observation, to understand
how the action of doing and seeing the theater can be fundamental in the formation of a critical thinking, a
social empowerment, a tangible perspective of what it is to belong and be fundamental in community,
besides to affirm the character of social responsibility that there is in the artistic making and the
importance of the work of the librarian in the recognition of the memory as fundamental to the
construction of the histories of the towns.
