RESUMO:

With the purpose of showing that the Professional Master's degree in librarianship and Information Sciences has a commitment not only to the Federal University of Cariri but also a social commitment to the city of Juazeiro do Norte, is that we base the proposal for the creation of a group of readings in the Municipal Public Library of this city, since the Information Science contributes with research related to the dynamics and cultural practices in the public and school libraries. The research is exploratory, bibliographical and experimental aims to build a reading mediation program for the Public Library of Juazeiro do Norte, Ceará, through dynamics and technologies based on the group of readings Ciranda of Books of the Bookstore Nobel Cariri . Based on these considerations, the following specific objectives are proposed: Identify the possibilities of mediation of reading in the Municipal Public Library of Juazeiro do Norte in order to create a reading group as a mechanism to stimulate reading and readers; To stimulate the reading in the users of the Public Library of Juazeiro do Norte making it more dynamic; and To opportunize through the valorization of reading the use of Public Libraries making the book a more accessible object. In the light of these reflections the problem of this research seeks to answer the following question: is it possible to build a reading mediation program for the Juazeiro do Norte public library? These reflections express several considerations in the practices carried out that have main focus to stimulate and stimulate the reading in the users of the Municipal Public Library of Juazeiro do Norte, Ceará.
