RESUMO:

The general objective of this study is to investigate the perspectives of the application of the information organization in the scope of the technical mediation of the information aiming at the construction of a program of action for the Library System of the Campus of the capital (Fortaleza). While the specific objectives are: to address the relationship between mediation and organization of information in the field of technical mediation; discuss about possibilities of applying technical information mediation in the Library System of the UFC - campus of the capital (Fortaleza); to identify the possible aspects that characterize the technical mediation of information in the Library System of the UFC - campus of the capital (Fortaleza); to propose a program of action in the scope of technical mediation of information for the Library System of the UFC - campus of the capital (Fortaleza). The theoretical-methodological basis is based on the bibliographical and documentary research about the conceptions of the organization of information in the scope of mediation, debated to analyze the facts available in the literature, as well as to discuss its applicability in the cataloging processes; ranking; indexation; library signage; collection development policy; services; products; use of virtual resources; preservation of memory. As for the objectives, this is an exploratory-descriptive research. As for the technical procedures, it is characterized by the bibliographic, documentary, participant research. It is used as a data collection technique, the triangulation of methods (questionnaires with librarians and community, semi-structured interview with SB / UFC director and directors of larger libraries, direct observation), as well as the use of the analysis of content as a qualitative data analysis technique. As a result, it is intended at the end of the research, to elaborate as a product the proposal of a program of action in the scope of technical mediation for the SB / UFC - campus of the capital (Fortaleza).
